Tucked away in a quiet corner, our Plankbridge Shepherds Hut B&B has been planned with your comfort & relaxation in mind. There is everything you need right here for that special & unique staycation experience. Painted in heritage Farrow & Ball colours, there is a full size double bed with sprung mattress & goose down duvet to ensure a perfect night’s sleep.
Hut - a plain or crude little house or cabin
We have under bed storage to help you keep the hut calm & clutter free. Get cosy with the wood burning stove to keep you warm if the temperature drops (and trust us, it can here in the Peak District) or a small electric heater if you’d prefer. There's a small bookcase with magazines, books, board/card games. Grab a blanket from here too & huddle around the firepit or the woodburner together.
Retreat - a quiet or secluded place
Our only concession to technology is the DAB radio, the perfect way to while away a lazy afternoon. And of course, a corkscrew & wine glasses, an absolute necessity! There is a vintage fold out table & chairs for you to eat your breakfast at if the weather is unkind, or enjoy the views over breakfast at the picnic bench just outside the hut’s front door or from up high on the new deck overlooking the field.
Enjoy - to get pleasure from or take joy in
While we waited patiently to reopen our little green hut door to you all, we spent lockdowns creating a fabulous new area for you to use. Nothing ordinary of course, our boys old tree house hidden away in the field that is private & has great views down into the village got a makeover. So now, we have another great place for you to enjoy breakfast, a morning coffee or a gin on the deck as the sunsets & the solar lights twinkle. Cheers!
Outside, there is a fire pit to huddle round & star gaze on a clear night whilst enjoying a glass of wine, beer or something warmer. To the back of the hut you will find a seating area with BBQ for your use, just bring your own fuel. We have plenty of great places to eat locally too that we can recommend within walking distance or a short drive if you just don’t have the energy.
Romance - an exciting feeling associated with love
We appreciate that you still require mod cons for washing even when you are ‘glamping’, that’s why we have provided a separate fully heated shower/utility room for your use. 30 metres up the garden & alongside the house (up a short flight of stone steps), you will find hot water, sink, electric shower, toilet & heated towel rail & towels for your use as well as a kettle, crockery/cutlery & the use of a fridge. Tea, coffee & milk are provided, just help yourselves, it’s all included in the price.
Cosy - warm comfortable and snug
You will have a breakfast basket ready for you on arrival, with some extra goodies too. Tea/coffee, granola, yoghurt with seasonal fruit, bread rolls, butter & local honey or homemade preserves. Please let us know if you have any allergies, special dietary requirements or would like something different for that special occasion, at least 48 hours ahead of your stay.
